Brackenburn Brackettes are excellent renewable solid fuel made from bracken that’s cut, compressed then dried and made into briquettes. Ferns grow in abundance. Regular cutting of ferns allows woodland flowers such as bluebells and primroses to colonise the areas cleared.
Brackette bricks burn as hot as Oak if not hotter, equalling Oak in length of burn time.
The ash from spent briquettes contains Potassium. Potash is an excellent natural mineral feed for the garden and lawn. It raises the PH of the soil so sprinkle sparingly. If in doubt carry out a PH test before you apply. It’s also great for deterring pests and diseases from your vegetable garden.
